GUARDIANSHIP
FAMILY
What is a guardianship? What is involved in being a guardian? What are the benefits to having a dog in our guardianship program? I am going to answer those questions and more!
In order for us to continue to provide healthy, happy, and loving puppies to families across the country, we need to always be growing and expanding. That means having loving homes for our parent dogs. We want our dogs to live their best life! It is fun here on our farm, the dogs love coming for visits. But then they get to go home to their forever family, where they can be properly trained, and given a lot more attention then we would be able to give them if they all lived here. Having a guardian home for our parent dogs ensures they live their best life. It also means even after they are retired from our program they get to stay right where they are at. With their family.
What are the benefits to being a guardian for us? There are so many!! I will list them below.
- Families get to take home a well bred dog that has healthy bloodline history for FREE!
- We pay all the regular vet expenses and additional health testing!
- We PAY you each time that dog has a litter.
- Free pet sitting when families go on holidays
- Visit the farm with your family to hang out and see puppies.
- We cover all expenses connected to breeding/pregnancy.
- We spay/neuter once the dog has retired from our program.
- Our guardian families become like family and we enjoy continuing that relationship even after the dog is no longer in our program.

Cruz
Cruz is new to Prairie Willow Dogs. We have had him only since January. He is incredibly handsome, with a nice blocky build and long white coat. Cruz has a curious nature and loves to go for walks and explore. He thrives best when he is close to his family and getting loads of attention. He also has a sweet and sensitive side to him.
He is not house trained and because he is a bit older we feel a small acreage would be a better place for him. Cruz is 7 years old and only has about 1 year left in our program. He knows basic manners and is great on a leash. We would like him with a family that has the time to work with him and take him on lots of adventures.

Lucy
Lucy is only a year old so she is still very much a puppy. She has lots of energy and is playful and fun to be around. She has a incredibly soft and luscious coat that is a beautiful white. Her picture does not due her justice.
She is not house trained but is intelligent and young enough that she will pick it up quickly. She knows basic manners but could use some additional training. She is so affectionate, and sweet, and calms right down when she is with people. We have only had Lucy a few months. She is a joy to be around and will bring a lot of joy to her new family.

Red Golden Retriever Puppy
We will be adopting a new male red golden retriever in a few weeks. We are looking to place him with a guardian family in mid June.
